Where are the church leaders?

Editor: As Christians, we are called to pray for our leaders and our country as a whole, but I think that it goes way beyond that. Let me explain. We are Christ’s ambassadors here on earth and as ambassadors we should represent Him to the fullest; but sad to say, this is not usually the case. For too long, there are persons in this country who continue to blaspheme the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. No one or nothing can be compared to the Lord Jesus Christ.{{more}} We have to protect and respect that name. For those of you, and you know who you are, who have used and continue to use that name for your own convenience, I am begging you to stop now.

My God is a jealous God and He would not share His glory with anyone. My biggest problem is not those persons who transgress, and God knows that they are wrong, but the church leaders who know about it, who say nothing, who do nothing; and it makes me wonder what is the role of the church leaders. Is it to see how many members they can get with all the other stuff that follows, or to be God’s conscience here on earth; and when evil raises its ugly head, to take a stand and condemn it? From time to time we quote the scripture: “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” Then why are we afraid to speak out? Have we sold our soul to the other powers? If so, shame on us! These days many of the leaders of the church only seem to be concerned about titles instead of doing what they are called to do. That is why the world does not respect us anymore. Because we have given them reasons not to!

Let us not allow the system to control us. We should be confronting the system head on and speaking where the Bible speaks. So, it’s time enough to stop just talking the talk and begin walking the walk or better yet, walking the talk. We need to stop playing church and be the church. Oh, by the way, is there still an organization called the Christian Council?
