Please liberate yourselves from this demonic delusion

Tue Feb 03, 2015

Editor: Colossians 2:14,16 reads thus ‘Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross …. Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or a new moon or of Sabbath days.’{{more}}

My friends of varying persuasions would lift this counsel out of context, claiming to be rightly dividing the word of truth and profane the name of God by claiming to bless that which God has declared to be unfit for His peoples’ diet (Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 ) and to deny Him His place as creator of heaven and earth. This was what Jude was referring to when he spoke of them as ‘ turning the grace of God into lasciviousness and denying the only Lord and our Lord Jesus Christ.’ (Jude 4). Whenever you destroy the fourth commandment, you are getting rid of the fact that Jesus is the creator of heaven and earth, and as such, Lord of all their inhabitants.

Let’s read verse 17 and let the text speak for itself, (I know my friends like to ‘speak where the Bible speaks,’ at least, that is what they say, but are unable to practise, as I would now prove) ‘…Which were a shadow of things to come…,’ so these meats and drinks and new moons and Sabbath days were supposed to be types or shadows of the future. I now ask my friends, what does the eating of swines’ flesh, crabs, shrimps and manicou and the drinking of alcohol foreshadow in the worship of Christ? Where in the books of the laws were they ever recorded? What measures of pork was ever instituted as a shadow of things to come? The ceremonies mentioned here were written by Moses in a book and placed in the side of the ark Deuteronomy 31: 24 – 26.

The meat mentioned here was not of flesh, it was made of certain measures of fine flour. (Leviticus 23:13 )

Unless you are bereft of understanding, you will know that flour is used here to make bread. Now, did not Jesus refer to Himself as the bread of life? How about the wine? Isn’t it the very reason that some preachers are under the delusion sent by God himself, as I mentioned earlier? The book of Revelation makes mention of the wine of Babylon, The false teachings that would bombard Christianity in the last days; the true wine represents the teachings of the true Christ through His representative, the Holy Spirit.

How about the Sabbaths? A closer look at the account in Leviticus 23 would reveal that there were other Sabbaths besides the seventh day cycle of Sabbaths. These fell on set days, like the first day of the first month or the fifteenth day of the first month, the question is, does the first day of any month fall on the same day every year? There were the passover Sabbath and the day of atonement among others. (I cannot fill you in on the types and antitypes of all of them here). Now isn’t Christ referred to as our passover? Isn’t he prefigured as the atonement lamb?

The fourth commandment was part of the testimonies written with the fingers of God and given to Moses that were to be placed, not in the side of the ark ,but in the ark itself. (Exodus 31:18 and 25:16 ) These are the same testimonies that the Psalmist declares in Psalm 19 as ‘more to be desired than gold, yea than much fine gold, sweeter than the honey and the honey comb.’ Who would destroy possessions that are more precious than gold? How I long for some honey and a taste of honeycomb!

One noted songwriter asked us to liberate ourselves from mental slavery. I now ask you to liberate yourselves from this demonic delusion, for none but yourself can free your mind. God sends you His truths through His prophets and apostles, (I am not here claiming to be either). He will never force His will on you, as you are told will happen during some fantasy millennium period, (more on this myth will be exposed later).

Until next week, be it the will of the Lord; may you continue to reach out with humble hearts to Our God !
