How shocking, surprising it was
Editor: How surprising it was for me to read the front page of your January 9 edition! How can a traffic offence committed by an individual take such prominence? More surprisingly, I noted that Bishop Jason Gordonâs stirring and practical New Yearâs Day message had barely made it to the back page of your newspaper.{{more}} How shocking! Especially after a record year of crime and violence here in St Vincent and the Grenadines â not excluding public theft, manmade disasters and other injustices.
May I take this opportunity to congratulate our former PM Sir James Mitchell, on having the tenacity and the courage, and of course, the financial ability to clear his name at home and in the international arena. Congratulations, Sir James.
I trust that the clergy would see it as their God-given privilege to stand firm in protecting and safeguarding the rights of the marginalized, the poor, the widows and the fatherless.
