Mama, you are no longer with us
But memories of you are a must
With your single parent skill
You demonstrated the maternal will{{more}}
Nurturing two little boys in the face of adversity
No easy task also facing up to strong enmity
You sacrificed for your little boys
Oh how I remembered those Christmas toys
In reflection my admiration rivets on your fortitude
Here in solitude I am convinced that you had the right attitude
Stress, frustration and immortality you defied
Opting for fervent Christian prayer surely this could be verified
Your sons you provided with a valuable education
This we can assert to every nation
Your blessed love we can share to a new generation
Thanks for the Bible stories which provided us with real life inspiration
My Mama, my dear mother you were the epitome of humility
Now and forever Iâll always salute your chastity and thank God you held your dignity
In a society marred by immorality
I still hear the echoes of your spirit chiding me whenever I go wrong
And exhorting me to focus and be strong
Right now in my heart there is a song of hope
And oh how it is helping me to cope
My mamaâs reassuring smile says “Pat it is not the endâ
From childhood through manhood
My mama was by best friend
