Beware of astrologers and soothsayers!

Fri Mar 21, 2014

Editor: Vincentians, as we approach the end of time, the enemy of our soul is finding more ways to deceive us and to keep us in the bondage of sin, which will take us right to Hell.{{more}}

Times have become so perilous, that people are now advertising evil.

Astrologers, soothsayers, witches and wizards, are now operating out of offices. Offering their clients wealth, fortune, life-long protection, and all sorts of “goodies.”

My fellow Vincentians, let us not be fooled by anyone who claims to be an astrologer, soothsayer, psalmist, spiritualist, sorcerer or anything of the sort.

The Bible makes it clear in John 10:10, that Jesus Christ is the only one who can give us abundant life.

These are the last days indeed, and many of us do have “itching ears”– we are all searching for some truth, and longing to hear some good news.

But let us not be so gullible as to turn to astrologers or soothsayers to fulfill that need within us. If we are sick, Jesus is our healer. If we are in need, he is our great provider. If we need a friend, he is one that sticketh closer than a brother. Whatever the need, whatever the longing, Jesus Christ can satisfy. Jesus is the only truth.

These people, astrologers, soothsayers, psalmists, spiritualists and the rest, they are all liars, false prophets, wolves in sheep’s clothing, demons and devils.

The prophet Jeremiah tells us clearly in Jeremiah 14:14 “the prophets prophesy lies in my name. I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”

This is a sound warning, to which we should all adhere… these people do not hear from God and they were not sent by him. If they do not hear from God, it is obvious that they are hearing from someone else.

These people tap into the realm of evil, and they are prompted by familiar spirits and spirits of divination.

In Deuteronomy 18, the Bible tells us that consultations with persons who use divination, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or familiar spirits “are an abomination unto the Lord.”

A similar warning is sounded in Leviticus 19:31: “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them.”

Familiar spirits operate under the influence of their master, Satan.

The Bible also warns us that even Satan himself is sometimes disguised as “an angel of light.”

When we consult with astrologers, soothsayers, witches and wizards, we open up ourselves and our families to become possessed by evil spirits.

Let us refrain from persons who want to tell us the future, persons who want to read our palms and destroy our lives with their false prophecies.

Be warned!
