Accident waiting to happen

EDITOR: On the way to north windward there is a yellow stone almost in the middle of the road with the letters “NDPâ painted on it. This is definitely not safe. As I drive by I always think about what can happen if vehicles are coming in both directions at this point at a speed that can cause one to skid right into that stone, even if brakes are applied.{{more}}
I am talking about the stone that is in the road at the bridge in Byera. I don’t know if there is a reason for that stone being there. If so, would someone please let me know. Everyone would pass up and down and just pretend that everything is okay until something happens and then they would say, “You know they should have moved that stone off the road”. So, if there is no reason why that stone should be there, and I don’t think there is, would the proper authorities please remove it!
The time has come when we should be more proactive. We have to put persons in certain positions that can look to the future and anticipate what would or could be the result of being neglectful. I quote the saying “A stitch in time saves nineâ. What that means is that we need to act before we have to regret. I also notice that dead animals remain at the side of the road for long periods. This is another potential risk for accidents.
I am amazed at my people and the level of their thinking when I see things like these. It makes me wonder if we are living in the 21st century. We allocate a lot of time to do and say things that are detrimental to others; we want our politicians to do things for us, instead of taking the initiative to do for ourselves what we can do. It is time to wake up and act like we care, instead of pretending that if we put our hands in fire we would not get burnt.
I am saying again, if there is a reason for that stone to be there, please let me know; if not, I am appealing to those concerned to remove it immediately, because that stone can cause us pain. We don’t know who, and we don’t know when, so let us avoid that at all costs.
