Living in dangerous times… Get serious about your life!

Edtor: Destructive tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, sink holes, mass animal deaths, sun flares, pestilences, social unrest…are some of the phenomena that are taking place throughout the world. Scoffers and sceptics similar to those existing in the days of Noah may not believe that these are foreshadows of end-time events. However, their disbelief cannot change the words of Christ concerning the past, present nor future. The phenomena are all signs that we are living in dangerous times – just before the coming of Christ. They confirm the truthfulness of the words of Christ, “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s heart failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Luke 21:25, 26).{{more}}
 
The moral deterioration of human character also testifies that we are indeed living in the last days. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come, for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents…despisers of those that are good…lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God…” (11 Timothy 3:1-5).

These are not times to be careless with your lives (there was never a time!) – living like you do not have to give account for your actions! People’s lives are being “put out” daily before our eyes, the murders are becoming more and more frequent and gruesome showing that the love of many is indeed waxing cold as iniquity abounds. This is certainly no time to be forgetful of your Creator and get caught up in debauchery, revelry (like Carnival) and idleness. It is a time to ensure that we repent of our sins and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be always in a state of preparedness. Our only security is in Jesus Christ. In her book Desire of Ages, the renowned 19th century religious writer, Ellen G. White reminds us that “there is assurance in nothing that is earthly”.

While many would prefer to hear “smooth” words, it is better to know the plain truth. Take a look through the Bible and learn about the last day events. Consider the realities in the world including in this little country. It is more than evident that we are living in dangerous times.
