Watch that chant!

Tue Apr 16, 2013

Editor: I am not sure how many people in St Vincent and the Grenadines have ever chanted “Yud, He, Vau, He”, or have even had the opportunity to hear the mantra being chanted by others.{{more}}

But “Yud, He, Vau, He” is a well respected term used in certain religious organizations.

It is also a popular chant in certain circles here.

It is said to be the tetragrammaton, four square name of God, which was used in the Hebrew language.

Calling God by the name “Yud, He, Vau, He” is being practised in certain quarters here.

Converts are also told that the name “Yud, He, Vau, He” should be spoken with all reverence.

They are also encouraged to chant the name “Yud, He, Vau, He” in order to obtain salvation and a closer and more intimate relationship with God.

But, is this really so? Does chanting the name “Yud, He, Vau, He” really bring salvation or draws one closer to God?

I used the Internet to get some more insight into what chanting the name “Yud, He, Vau, He” really does.

Numerous options came up when I started my search engine.

Sad to say, the majority of options with the name “Yud, He, Vau, He” had links to the occult, magic and mysticism, demons and Satanism.

One website said “Yud, He, Vau, He” is often used as a mantra to invoke evil spirits.

Another site said “Yud, He, Vau, He” is a popular chant made when witches and wizards meet.

“In Satan’s opposition to God, he mocks the truth, chanting ‘Yud, He, Vau, He’, mocking God by using the four Hebrew letters ‘YHVH,'” one website stated.

On another site, it was stated that “‘Yud, He, Vau, He’ is nothing more than a system of Jewish Magic.”

“When you say the name ‘Yud, He, Vau, He’, you are calling directly on Satan,” the site emphasized.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say to chant or call the name “Yud, He, Vau, He” to get closer to call.

On the contrary, the Bible tells us in Philippians 2:10 “At the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in Heaven and things in earth and things under the earth.”

The Bible further tells us in Acts 4:12 ” Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Vincentians, do not be fooled.

God’s name is not a magic word that should be chanted.

Almighty God cannot be conjured up, or treated as an object.

Attempting to do so could take you into the realm of the occult.

Be warned.
