US election aftermath [A]

Editor: “My prediction? If Obama loses look for the usual suspects in SVG to insert racism. If Romney wins and adopts the Kennedy policy of 1963, look for the ULP to easily win the next election irrespective of who leads the New New Democratic Party.”

The above is the conclusion of an article, “Romney Gets a Surprise” that was submitted for publication last Tuesday, 6 November – election day in the US. Basically the article dealt with the surprise endorsement by the Democrat owned New York Daily News.{{more}} Here is what the paper said: “The trend over the Obama years: Goodbye to middle – and high-income jobs in New York City; hello to positions that pay less than $45,000 a year. Recovery from the disaster that Obama inherited was going to take time. But four years is a long, long slog. Had the president guided a typical upswing, America would by now have regained essentially all its lost jobs. At his present pace, Obama would reach that milestone in the third year of a second term. The regrettable truth is that Obama built a record of miscalculations and missed opportunities. After originally projecting that the program would produce 4 million more jobs than the country now has, along with a 5 percent jobless rate, Obama pleads that he saved Americans from more dire straits.”

To justify its switch it said: “Critically, he [Romney] has tailored his policies to create jobs, jobs, jobs. The centerpieces of Romney’s plan call for spending restraint and rewriting the Internal Revenue code to lower rates by 20 percent…. The presidential imperative of the times is to energize the economy and get deficits under control to empower the working and middle classes to again enjoy the fruits of an ascendant America. So the News is compelled to stand with Romney.”

Now, there are some in SVG, the usual suspects, who have advanced that some recovery was taking place and some wanted to get elected “so they could now benefit from the recovery now taking place.” Maybe he is in a better position to measure the recovery than the Democrats who own the NY Daily News. What did Obama promise before the election? He declared an immediate end to sea level rising. He stood next to a gas pump and said the price of gasoline at $1.89 was too high. He said that a deficit of $9 trillion was “unpatriotic”; he would cut it in half if elected. He promised unemployment would be under five per cent. Gas is now averaging $4, the deficit is $16 trillion and unemployment is two points higher than where he met it. For blacks the unemployment rate is now 14 per cent, three points up. With his announced blessing, nine states now say marriage is any union between any animal. The Vatican has published an editorial; I hope one those devout Catholics, particularly those who rejoice at the re-election of Mr Obama [hope this not casting aspersions on any religion] would have parts published.

After the Obama victory, I got a number of calls and texts, but I do not think any of it was gloating, but I now – so people do not make judgments based on ignorance – share some correspondence with my party.

Subject: Barack Obama’s Record Makes Democrats Miss Bill

Friend,

Tonight former President Bill Clinton took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. While it’s hard to believe, the Clinton years are beginning to look like the glory days compared with the mess President Obama and his liberal allies have created.

After President Obama came to office, he tossed out the Clinton-era welfare reform that required able-bodied aid recipients to work. This is more proof of the President’s overreach and general disregard for the constitutional limits on his authority.

Additionally, while Clinton presided over balanced budgets, President Obama has presided over four straight trillion-dollar deficits. And how about the middle class? Under President Obama, median household income has declined by over $4,000.

If we want to spur the economy and get Americans working again, then it’s time we take this country in a new direction. By his own admission, President Obama’s first term has been a failure. We cannot afford four more years of broken promises. The stakes are too high.

Donate $20 or more today to help us build a better America.

Thanks,

Reince Priebus

Sir,

What kind of nonsense it this about Clinton and balance budget and Clinton era “welfare reform”. The American voter delivered both houses of congress to the GOP after two years of Clinton. The terms were dictated to him, Clinton had no choice. As usual, my party always appears as whims.

We have a party that removed God from its platform and a president who supports homosexual marriage and the best Mitt Romney can say is that the democrats “are removed from the American people”.

You have black religious leaders repulsed by Obama’s homosexual stance for America’s – use it.

I ceased to make contribution to the RNC when the first Bush came in with his “kinder and gentler”.

Politics is a game of hardball. I will contribute when you guys get serious.

Subject: Sowell on dependency

Sir,

Do not let the name fool you, am black but a Republican since the debacle known as Jimmy Carter. Attached is an article written by Thomas Sowell just this September 10. I think you may want to get Mr Sowell on your program and pass this info on to others.

Tell you though, I had my misgivings about a Republican who got elected in Massachusetts.

Next week, why a Romney victory would have been a big plus for the ULP.
