These are the ‘Last Days’

Tue, Sept 18, 2012

Editor: If these are not the last days, I can’t help asking, “What else?”

People are becoming more brazen, more reckless, presumptuous and more. Their every action is bent on promoting self. They hardly look out for each other. Murder is on the rise; some cases are covered up. People are just indifferent. These acts do not seem to bother them anymore.{{more}} Those that are reported never seem to reach anywhere, and after a while they simply fade into nothingness.

“What is going on?”

People are now talking about the different things that led up to the shooting in Layou. According to some, the three boys involved were seen patrolling the streets with long guns, but this was not their business, until the victim is no more. “What happens to being our brother’s keeper?” Is this out of style?

We need not watch the atrocities that are taking place sometimes in war zones like Afghanistan, because they are being acted out right in our midst. Our people are just callous, uncaring, reckless and downright wicked. The Bible’s words in Jeremiah are so right: “The hearts of men (women included) are desperately wicked”.
