Congratulations to firefighter for speaking out

Editor: Kudos to the firefighter who came forward and aired issues that have been blatantly visible to Vincentians for a long time.{{more}}

Whenever I see photos of the firefighters in action, they are usually aided by civilians. Not only is this unprofessional, but it’s also a no-no. Allowing civilians to put their lives at risk should never be an option.

Making the firefighting crew its own entity, separate from the Police is a no-brainer and should warrant a long hard look.

Fighting fire is serious business that requires hard and rigorous training on an on-going basis. There is no excuse for cutting corners with lack of training and improper and insufficient supplies. The government should address this situation immediately. While we linger, the rest of the region are laughing at us.
