Change your ways, Mr Driver!

Fri, Jul 20. 2012

Editor: I feel impelled to write this article concerning a minibus driver who operates on the Leeward side of the island.{{more}}

This driver has absolutely NO respect for passengers. He is known for using indecent language to passengers with whom he is upset/angry. He generally refuses to pick up elderly passengers. He plays some of the most debasing music one can imagine – songs containing indecent language and sexually explicit lyrics. Due to this driver’s attitude, many persons have stopped travelling with him. I am asking this driver to please change his ways. It’s for your own good, Mr Driver. I am asking passengers to exercise their right to seek justice when they are verbally abused by any driver; this may include reporting the matter to the police. Yes, that is your lawful right. I call on the National Omnibus Association (NOBA) to continually urge drivers to deal with their passengers kindly. I commend those drivers who treat their passengers with respect, and the passengers who in turn treat drivers respectfully. To the driver I refer to above, I say again, change your aggressive, arrogant ways, or else you’ll keep losing passengers or eventually be reported to the police. Shame on you, Mr Driver, if you don’t change.
