Traffic cops, get your act together!

Fri, Feb 17, 2012

Editor: I want to ask the Traffic Branch of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force a pointed question. Are drivers being punished for driving on the road that exits at KFC /Pizza Hut at Arnos Vale?{{more}}

Every morning the folks who use this particular road feel as if they are being punished. We have to wait some times as much as 20 minutes before we can exit this road onto the main Arnos Vale road. The police would sometimes allow about six vehicles out, only to stop the line again. Scores of vehicles would pass up and down while we have to sometimes turn off our engines to save gas and hope that the traffic cop would somehow find it in his mind to allow us out. It is really frustrating the way we drivers who use this road are treated . Gas is expensive, and we don’t want to drive up Queen’s Drive and exit at Bum Bum, but that is what it boils down to at times.

Ironically, the traffic flows like a dream whenever the exit is unmanned by an Officer. The drivers on the major road usually co operate and allow more vehicles out than the police will ever do.

Get your act together, traffic cops, and treat us with a little more dignity. If you feel we are a nuisance to you for using this portion of road, then close it every morning and stop sending us these subtle messages.
