Fri, Dec 16. 2011

Editor: Mrs. Andrea Clare Bowman née Keizer grew up in the walls of the Girls’ High School initially as a child of a teacher, then later entered the halls in 1972. Further to this, she created history by becoming the first Headmistress who was the daughter of a headmistress.{{more}}

We cannot help but admire this well brought up lady who encourages us to be law abiding and patriotic students. Her unwavering persistence for adherence to strong moral values has influenced us to take pride in ourselves in and out of school.

Her love, care and tenderness towards us, married to her passion for academic excellence, has led to her popularity amongst the student body. These qualities seem to be a catalyst to her dynamic leadership which has played a vital role in the improvements of the CSEC grades since 2004. It was under her leadership that Physical Education and Theatre Arts were introduced to our curriculum up to CSEC level.

The students highly respect her, not only because of her drive for academic excellence, but that she cares for the less fortunate. She assures all students that they are special, smart and talented.

As we mark the end of our Centenary year, the student body of the Girls’ High School would like to thank you for escorting us through this special year and wish you, our Centenary headmistress, a belated happy, happy 50th birthday.
