In Defence of Almighty God!

25.MAR.11

Editor: At times we may hear people, including religious leaders, say about someone who has died, “God was ready for the child, so he took him/her to be an angel with him in heaven.” Does the Bible really teach that God takes children or others to be angels with him?{{more}}

Job 34:10, 12 clearly shows that the Almighty God does not do wicked things. Thus, is it reasonable to say that the Almighty God will take a young child from its parent(s), leaving the parent(s) to suffer grief? Remember, even the perfect son of God, Jesus wept at Lazarus’ death, thus feeling the grief/pain that death brings. The Bible calls “death” an enemy, not a friend.

(1 Corinthians 15:26) So would God really do something that grieves parents and others? Psalms 127:3 tells us that “children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Hence, God has given children as a reward, a gift to parents. Are we to say that after giving parents a valuable gift, God takes back that gift? Therefore, it is wrong to say that God takes peoples’ lives in order to have them in Heaven with him. Death is the result of sin, inherited from Adam and Eve, as is evident from what Romans 5:12 states. Let’s always remember that God NEVER does what is wicked to hurt anyone. (James 1:13)

In the future, God will put an end to death and all other suffering. (Revelation 21:3 – 5) For more information, see the book: “What Does the Bible Really Teach?” pages 10, 106 – 114.
