Well done, Planning Department

Editor: I would wish to commend the Planning Department for sensitizing the builders in St. Vincent & the Grenadines about the importance of anchoring rafters in the perimeter beams on roofs.{{more}} The passing of Hurricane Tomas has shown how effective this is. Not too many modern roof tops were affected.

I would also wish to see another step taken by the Planning Department. That is, to introduce water tanks in all buildings, rather than backfilling with dirt. It is a benefit to the owner and us as Vincentians.
