An atheist is someone who does not believe in God
Editor: Simply put, an atheist is someone who does not believe in God or the existence of the Trinity.
Sad, but true, there are some atheists here in our blessed land, SVG. We are a Christian nation and I am conscious that many are not Christians. However, if someone is not a Christian, it does not make that person an atheist.{{more}} There are many persons who for one reason or another are not Christians and do not go to church, yet they believe in the Supreme Being and call upon Him.
But when one simply does not believe in Christ or any of the God head, that person is simply an atheist. You canât expect an atheist to give credit or praise to God, for after all, that person does not believe in God. Can that person truly repent? This is indeed a hard question that can be debated. It is my personal belief that an atheist, if ever he repents, it will take the hands of the Lord to do something drastic for that person to realize that he/she needs to believe in God, the change will not come overnight.
We even have a radio station in this country that does not play anything religious. They do not start their day with prayer or any thing from the Bible. That radio station does not play Christian songs and does not have any religious programme. One wonders if the owner is an atheist also. Unfortunately, many of our young people listen to this station daily and for some, it is the only station they listen to. Then tell me how they be guided in the right direction.
I therefore call upon us as Christians to pray for those who we recognized as atheists and pray that God will save them from their sins. In the meantime, we as a nation can only progress if we recognize God as our head and live the way He wants us to live. It is time to turn to the Lord and put our trust in Him, after all, none is greater than Him and we can not exist without Him.
Sadly though, the atheist will find themselves in the lake of fire, not only they but all those who reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Let me remind one and all that according to Phillipians 2:10, 11, every knee will one day bow to him, this includes the atheist.
