Editor: The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis issued a proclamation (earlier this year) instituting new constituency boundaries. The Federation’s imminent elections would, therefore, have taken place in accordance with the new boundaries.{{more}}

The proposed changes threatened to send St.Kitts and Nevis into a political crisis as the Opposition, People’s Action Movement (PAM), instituted proceedings to halt the changes from taking place. In a ruling on Monday, October 19, 2009, by Justice Errol Thomas, the proclamation to institute the new constituency boundaries was declared null and void.

The Vincentian born Justice Thomas was praised, by the legal fraternity, throughout the region for his sound reasoning and courageous boldness. Many members of the Bar, in the Caribbean, strongly affirm that our judges are as good as judges anywhere else in learning and integrity.

Justice Errol Thomas has always displayed these qualities over the years on the Bench. May he continue to serve us with his Solomonic wisdom.
