Foreign policy or ULP Government

Editor: I am most pleased as a Vincentian and Caribbean person about the initiatives of the ULP government in the area of foreign policy. Through a sensible and focused approach, the ULP government has delivered significant benefits to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a consequence of its developed relations with the European Union, Japan, Taiwan, Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, Malaysia, the USA, the UK, Canada, India, Kuwait, Ethiopia, Morocco, Italy, and now, Austria, among others.{{more}}
Moreover, through its progressive, nationalist, regionalist, and internationalist outlook, the ULP government has made us proud at the United Nations, the OAS, UNESCO, CARICOM, the OECS, and other multi-lateral entities. Again, our people have benefited immensely.
Recently, Prime Minister Gonsalvesâ official visits to Turkey, Mexico, and Austria between mid-March and mid-April demonstrate an amazing diplomatic and foreign policy offensive. Clearly, SVG and its Prime Minister continue to be highly respected and valued as never before. This fact probably annoys those who are in the âRalph-hating businessâ on a full-time basis.
The ULP government has obviously lifted the bar very high for performance all-round, including in foreign policy. The people are unlikely ever to turn to unimaginative types like Messrs Eustace, Leacock, Cummings, Friday or Linton Lewis as leaders. History has gone past them!
After Ralph, we expect a fresh leadership whom he himself is grooming. We are making real progress!
