Editor: Was it not the Caribs who welcomed the Africans from the distressed slave ship? And was it not these Africans who later created the Garifuna culture? I think your reporter got this part wrong.

I suppose I should say Kalinago instead of Carib, but I am waiting until Caribbean Sea becomes Kalinagan Sea, and our islands the Kalinaga Islands.
