‘Jack’s article right on target’

Editor: First let me express my agreement with Joel Jack concerning lady preachers. My brother, you are right on target.

In 1: Timothy, 4:1 we are told that in the latter days some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.{{more}}

We are seeing and hearing many preachers pray to the HOLY SPIRIT. The question is, should we pray to the Holy Spirit?

The scripture must be the sole authority and not our personal feelings. Nowhere in the Bible do we have any scripture that tells us we must pray to the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ, in Matthew 6, speaking to his disciples and teaching them how to pray, said that we should pray to the Father. In St. John: 17, and the other gospels, prayers are addressed to the Father and not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has its own function, but not receiving of prayers.

There are more scriptures that can be mentioned. However, if one has to examine the Bible and all the verses that deal with prayer, we will see that prayers are not addressed to the Holy Spirit.

I therefore urge us to be guided by the Bible and not our emotions and feelings.
