Rural areas need more doctors

Editor: Why are medical graduates not working in the rural areas?

In reference to the article “Doctors At Large” in your last edition, please help me to comprehend why these doctors are without work while the rural areas are still operating with one doctor in very large districts such as North Windward. Are these medical graduates only seeking employment in the city? {{more}}

It is scary to think an individual who is sick has to travel from Fancy to Kingstown when the doctor is unavailable, or while this doctor is visiting the Fancy, Owia or Sandy Bay districts. Sorry for not understanding what you are referring to as “Thirty young professionals who graduated from universities in the region this year are at present still without jobs.”
