New prison needed

Editor: If we are patriotic Vincentians and truly love our country, we would all agree that there is a need for a new prison.
The government ought to be complimented for its initiative in setting about to build a new correctional centre.{{more}}
However, there is one area of concern to me and that is the amount of prisoners it is designed to accommodate. I think that accommodating 400 persons is a bit too small. You see, it doesn’t matter what programmes are put in place and how vigilant the police officers are, there will always be a rise in crimes.
I therefore would recommend that more space be given to accommodate at least 100 more prisoners or else in years to come we would have to be adding more rooms to the prison.
