Nine finalists named in National Primary School Math Quiz
Nine finalists have been announced in the National Primary Schools Math Quiz.
The finalists are: Andre Quamina – St Mary’s Roman Catholic;
Kai Francis – Kingstown Preparatory;
Ashanique Shallow – Pamelus Burke Primary;
Skye Johnson – Fair Hall Government;
Zaheim Michael – Fancy Government;
Damien Branch – Windsor Primary;
Jurnee Massicott – Georgetown Government;
Daronno Louie – Chateaubelair Methodist;
Kaiden John – Dickson Methodist.
The finals will be held on Wednesday, May 15, at the Girl Guide Headquarters, commencing at 1 p.m. Participants in the finals are expected to arrive by 12:30 p.m.
The preliminary round of the quiz took place from April 23 to April 30 at various venues across the country.
According to a release from the Ministry of Education, the competition targets students of grade 5, giving them the opportunity to showcase their capabilities in Math and to develop a love for the subject.
Local representative of Hodder Education, Byron Wilson, says that the company shares the Ministry’s vision of fostering positive attitudes in the teaching and learning of math.
