A commemorative magazine is among several items launched this year to celebrate the longstanding history of Nine Mornings in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

The “It’s Nine Mornings” magazine was revealed at the Nine Mornings Launch, which took place on Sunday evening at Heritage Square.

The 80-page magazine is priced at EC$20 and highlights several aspects of the festival including its history, competition results from 1999 to 2017, music, the church and pictures from the various communities involved.

“We really want you to support the magazine, to get your copy because by getting your copy and reading the material, you are more au fait with it than say people living overseas and in that way, you will be able to speak about it much more intimately and tell them how great Nine Mornings is,” Lennox Bowman, the deputy chairman of the Nine Mornings Committee.

Bowman said that the magazine is an attempt to capture the festival’s history.

Cecil McKie, the minister of Tourism said that fridge magnets and key rings are also available for purchase. And he encouraged people to purchase these items in support of Nine Mornings.

“We will refresh them each year and I want to say to you in 2019, we will not only refresh these items but we want to ensure that we begin the process for the Nine Mornings festival to be recognised worldwide as one of the world festivals and we want you to support us in the endeavour,” he said.
The magazine was produced by Interactive Media Limited on behalf of the SVG Nine Mornings Committee.
