South African High Commissioner visits SVG
The High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is in the state participating in activities commemorating the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela.
Her Excellency Xoliswa Nomathamsanqa Ngwevela arrived on July 15 and will be here until July 20.
A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce said the visit by the High Commissioner not only serves as a testimony of the cordial relations between SVG and South Africa but serves to highlight the significance of the centennial celebrations of Nelson Mandela in the development of both countries.
Ngwevela participated in the Centennial Relay and Freedom Songs Concert on Sunday and the Nelson Mandela Lecture last night.
This evening, she will participate in the movie night of the film Invictus, and on Wednesday, the Nelson Mandela Dress Day and the naming of the Nelson Mandela Highway. On Friday a Nelson Mandela Recognition ceremony will be held.
The public is invited to attend all events.
