Police Caroling contest set for December 15

The Police Credit Union Police Christmas Carolling will take place on Friday, December 15, on the grounds of the Central Police Station, commencing at 7:30 p.m.

Since 2003, the Police Christmas Carolling Contest has been playing an invaluable and instrumental role in fostering a more harmonious relationship between members of the constabulary and the general public.

The aims of the contest are to nurture the creative abilities of members of the force; foster and enhance team spirit among members; strengthen relations with the public; and assist in building a celebratory atmosphere during the festive season.

There are 13 choirs participating in this year’s competition – seven in the senior category – Western Carollers, Eastern Carollers, Coast Guard Carolers, CPS Blasters, Auxiliary Police Carollers, CID Carollers and Traffic Angels.

In the junior category, the choirs are Barrouallie Police Youth Club Carollers, Bequia Police Youth Club Carollers, Sandy Bay Police Youth Club Carollers, Georgetown Police Youth Club Carollers and Petit Bordel Police Youth Club Carollers.

There will be guest appearances by artistes, including Man Zangie (debuting his Christmas single), Genesis Steel Orchestra, the Police Drama Club, the Police Band and more.

This year’s contest is being held under the theme “Spreading Joy and Peace throughout the season’. A cordial invitation is extended to the public to join us in this wonderful time of celebration.
