Youlou invites artists to showcase artistic talent

Visual artists and craft makers are being offered an opportunity to display and sell their work at the Youlou Art Centre.

The Centre, in a release, said during the month of December, they will host two major events, the first of which will be an art show and sale of paintings by local artists. This show, titled “The December Show,” will open on Saturday, December 9 and will close the middle of February.

The second event is a Craft Fair, which will be held over the weekend of December 9 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. All local craft makers are invited to be part of the fair.

“Plans are in place to have several stations where children will be able to do some painting, work with self drying clay, and have their faces painted, all for a very small fee. Refreshments will be on sale. We will have homemade ice cream made the old fashioned way, hand churned specially for you. And a few surprises,” the release said.

Beginning Wednesday, November 8 at 7 p.m., the Youlou Art Centre will be offering a night of painting to the adult population. These special evenings are for adults to sip and paint. This event offers adults the chance to relax, socialize and flex their artistic muscles.
