Vinlec hosts Retiree Appreciation Day
Close to 100 persons attended the ninth annual St Vincent Electricity Services Ltd (VINLEC) Retiree Appreciation Day last Friday, October 20.
Among the attendees were retirees and their family members, as well as staff from VINLEC.
The highlights of the event included a talk on Healthy Living, as well an aerobics session, which was done by the Sports Division. A number of nurses and other health care personnel were on site and conducted blood pressure and blood sugar tests. They also provided foot care services.
The Appreciation Day is one feature of the Retiree Appreciation Programme initiated by VINLEC as a show of gratitude to the retirees who have contributed to the development of the company. Through the programme, retirees are provided with opportunities to interact at numerous other activities organised by the company. Another highlight of the programme is the presentation of gift baskets on birthdays and visits by members of staff.
The event has been hailed a success by the retirees, who expressed appreciation to VINLEC for hosting them. Previous outings included luncheons, as well as tours to the Tobago Cays, Rawacou, Bequia, Black Point, the Leeward coast and Dark View Falls.
