SVG to observe National Day of Prayer October 2

The 2017 National Day of Prayer will be observed here on Monday, October 2.

A release from the National Day of Prayer Committee, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, National Reconciliation, and Ecclesiastical Affairs, announced that the observance will take place under the theme: “Arise and go to the Father.”

The main objective of the day is to bring the nation together in prayer with a number of activities scheduled, including: Interactive/On-air Prayers (via radio); Workplace Devotions; School Devotions; Individual Prayers at Heritage Square; Facebook Live Prayer Sessions; Social Media ‘Post a Prayer’.

These activities will culminate with a National Prayer Rally at Heritage Square from 3 to 6 p.m.

The release urged the public to actively participate in the event and take the opportunity to pray for our nation as well as our regional neighbours who were affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria.

This is the 10th year the day is being observed in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
