Vee Jay’s Restaurant & Bar awards lunch scholarships

Three students who were successful in the 2017 CPEA exam have received lunch scholarships from Vee Jay’s Restaurant and Bar.

As part of the restaurant’s celebration of its 40th anniversary, Kayanna John and T’Kiya Williams will receive lunch every day for the five years they will spend in secondary school. Kayanna and T’Kiya are incoming first formers of the St Joseph’s Convent Kingstown and were recommended for the scholarships by their head teachers, based on their primary school performance.

They are residents of Biabou and Barrouallie, the home towns of Vee Jay’s proprietors, Julia and Rudolph Richardson.

A third full lunch scholarship is expected to be awarded.

Meanwhile, Shamur Williams, the child of a long-standing customer, will receive a Friday lunch scholarship. He will attend the Thomas Saunders Secondary when school reopens next week.
