SVGCG kicks off summer programme
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard service, in collaboration with the Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Sagicor Life Inc and Wind and Sea Tours, will commence its Annual Youth Development Summer Programme on Monday, July 17, 2017.
The programme caters for participants between ages 14 and 18 years, and covers subjects such as: Safety at Sea, Seamanship, Navigation, Conflict Resolution, Substance Abuse and Prevention, Personal Development, and Various Educational Field outings.
The programme, which is in its 24th year, will be conducted in its usual three phases: Phase One, July 17 â 25; Phase Two, July 31 â August 8; Phase Three, August 14 â 22.
Since its inception, over 2,282 of our nationâs youths have successfully participated in the programme. This year, the programme will be held under its theme âShaping our Youth for Lifeâs High Seas.â
Registration forms for the SVG Coast Guard Youth Development Summer Programme 2017 can be collected at the Coast Guard Base, Calliaqua, by parents/guardians, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday, July 2. These forms are distributed on a first come first served basis. They are to be returned within a week of the commencement of the phase.
