An arrogant, dictatorial and undemocratic posture is being unfolded by some persons who are disappointed by the results of the December 9, 2016 general elections.

The is the view of Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, who made the comment recently at a press conference, while commenting on a fire that had been set at the Unity Labour Party constituency office in South Leeward.{{more}}

He said since the election results were announced, there has been a number of fires, including most recently, the constituency office, which was burnt for the second time in five months.

Stating that he condemned these actions in the strongest possible way, he said an undemocratic posture is unfolding here.

“What you are witnessing unfolding in this country is an arrogant, dictatorial and undemocratic posture by some persons who did not get in the 9th of December the result which they hoped for,” said Gonsalves, who added that persons who did not get a New Democratic Party (NDP) government have decided to create disorder.

“All my life, I have fought against institutions and parties and agencies which are undemocratic and arrogant in their lack of democracy and it doesn’t matter how they are dressed up, I will fight them again,” said Gonsalves, who noted that he is focused on the work the country has asked him to do.(LC)
