SVG Ex-Police Association donates to Dominica

Another Vincentian organization has come to the assistance of Dominica following the passage of Tropical Storm Erika.

Yesterday, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Ex-Police Association handed over a cheque of $1,050 to the Police Welfare Association,{{more}} to be delivered to a hurricane victim in Dominica.

According the association’s public relations officer (PRO) Pastor Lennox Haynes, at a meeting last month, it was decided that they would assist someone in Dominica who had suffered a loss because of the storm. Following this they contacted the president of the Dominican Ex-Police Association, who informed them of someone in need and they saw it fit to raise some money to help him.

“Whatever we can afford to do we will do it,” said president of the association James Blugh, adding that he had viewed the severity of the storm via television.

“Erika did a marvelous job in upsetting the lives of Dominicans. Where the need exists, we pledge to assist,” he said, adding that the donation would go far in assisting the Dominican.(AS)
