Huffles Ranch reassures partygoers about safety of establishment

Following a shooting death just outside their venue last weekend, the Huffles Ranch night club is assuring partygoers that their establishment is still the place to be on a Friday night.

On Saturday, October 3, in an alleged shootout with police, Questelles resident Rawlson Williams was shot and killed, shortly after 5:30 a.m.{{more}}

In a post made to the club’s Facebook page on Tuesday, it states: “It is known and proven that Huffles Ranch is one of the most secure party venues in SVG. We have RRU (Black Squad) officers patrolling, police in the parking lot directing the parking, plain clothes police presence in the club, so when you party you party safely,” the post read.

It further reads that that, “it was unfortunate however the events which took place outside our venue near the parking lot at around 5:30 a.m. last Saturday morning, long after the party had finished. The loss of life is never easy news to swallow but kudos to the police for their usual swift action which prevented a dangerous situation from escalating.”

Police, in a press statement earlier this week, said police officers were on duty at the popular night club, when they heard gun shots in the vicinity shortly after 5:30 a.m. and saw a man shooting at another man and they gave chase.

The report stated that the gunman, who was later identified as Williams, started firing shots in the direction of the police, who returned fire.

Police say Williams’ body was subsequently discovered near to a .357 Magnum revolver in some nearby bushes.

“… So let it now also be known that Huffles Ranch is the place where everyone parties on a Friday night, however if you are coming to our venue with criminal intentions… Think again. If you don’t believe us ask the police…,” the club further wrote on their page.

Investigations are said to be ongoing.(KW)
