Francois distances himself from audio recording of meeting

A member of the executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) is distancing himself from an audio recording of an August 5 meeting of the executive, which is now circulating in public.

Clemroy Bert Francois, in an email sent to the media on Wednesday, said he had nothing to do with the recording of the meeting of August 5 in which president of the SVGFF Venold Coombs could be heard launching a scathing attack on third vice-president Elroy Paul Boucher.{{more}}

“I wish to categorically state for the record, that I have NEVER recorded any executive meetings neither did I record the transcript of the meeting in question…While I do not condone or support President COOMBS outburst in fact I think it was not in keeping with his good office. I want to make it clear that I was not a part of any plan to record or disseminate the said recording,” Francois declared in the email.

He further wrote: “…my understanding is that several members of the executive and public are of the opinion that I was the one who made and released the recording or had a part in it….Had I been involved I would NOT distance myself from same.

“Until the affiliates at the next election decide that they do not wish for me to continue to serve them, I will continue to serve football and the executive in a professional manner and with integrity,” Francois’ letter concluded.

Francois said he is currently in St Maarten on CFU business.
