According to Questelles’ son, Sid McDowall, his father, who is a prison officer by profession, left home on Wednesday night to go fishing in Sion Hill with friends, but since then has not returned home.

McDowall explained that Ashton Jack and Calvert Davis, the men with whom his father went fishing, said that the Dauphine resident was still on the rocks into the early hours of Thursday morning, but was nowhere to be seen when the sun came up.

“They made light signals to one another because they were on different points of the rock. So, they made light signals and that’s how he knew that he was still there at that time. But when the place clear out in the morning… he didn’t see him over there,” McDowall said one of his father’s friends told him.

McDowall told SEARCHLIGHT that when he heard his father was missing, he reported the matter to the Calliaqua Police Station. Additionally, he stated that he took two friends with him to search for his father on Sunday, which led them to find Questelles’ bag and some fishing gear on the rocks where he was last seen.

“I don’t even know how I feel, but although we ain’t find him yet, I still feel that he out there somewhere and I could find him and he will be alive. I feel that way because I don’t want to think badly; it will just make me feel bad,” the son said.

The 59-year-old man was last seen wearing a black jersey, white pants and multi-coloured fisherman shoes (cha-cha-chas).
