Streams of Power Ministries celebrates 50th anniversary

The Church is ‘Alive and Well!’ That’s the resounding message that pastors, members and friends of the Streams of Power Ministries in St Vincent and the Grenadines rang out through the streets of Kingstown and the Victoria Park on Palm Sunday, March 29.{{more}}

The massive crowd, clad in special anniversary T-shirts and waving palm branches and flags, embodied a magnificent spectacle, as they marched from outside the Peace Memorial Hall, led by the combined Streams of Power dancers and the CW Prescod School’s marching band.

The march and rally were the final events in a series of activities held to celebrate the Ministries’ 50th anniversary. The rally, which was held at the Victoria Park, proved to be nostalgic for some, as it was at that venue 50 years ago that missionaries from Holland held a series of life-changing crusades, establishing the Streams of Power movement here.

The rally, which was broadcast live on the National Broadcasting Radio, Nice Radio and Praise FM and televised live on SVG TV and, saw congratulatory greetings pouring out from the Christian community. A 17-member male choir came from the People’s Cathedral in Barbados and nicely complemented the Streams of Power Mass Choir for the occasion.

Bishop Dr Lester Emanuel of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies in Antigua and Barbuda delivered the feature address. Bishop Emanuel, who is a Bible School classmate of Pastor Dr Errol Daniel, challenged the gathering, which comprised Streams of Power members and pastors and members of different denominations, to “awake, arise and stir” themselves. Reiterating the theme of the celebration “From Strength to Strength,” Bishop Emanuel reminded the brethren of their privileged responsibility to be representatives of the Cross and encouraged them not to become complacent.

Pastor Errol Daniel, who along with his wife Pastor Carmalie Daniel and their family has been leading the Streams of Power Ministries for the past 41 years, expressed gratitude to all those who have made the 50th anniversary celebrations a tremendous success. Pastor D also encouraged the believers to continue to be steadfast, unmovable, and to always abound in the works of the Lord, as their labour will not be in vain in the Lord.
