“These two hallmark promotional items have proven to be among our top marketing tools and they have held their footing in the marketing arena. They continue to portray astonishingly attractive aspects of Vincy Mas and catch the eye of the overseas public that many persons cannot resist the temptation to come to Vincy Mas,” CDC chair Dennis Ambrose said.

The view cards, which feature highlights from the 2014 festival, were created by local graphic artist Shaun Young. Another local graphic artist, Shannon Durrant-Samuel was selected by the committee to do the official poster, which highlights the 30th anniversary of the Miss Carival pageant and the 50th anniversary of the Queen of the Bands competition.

“It was agreed that private events would again be represented on the view cards,” the chair stated.

“You would notice that Soca Swing and Wet Fete are two such activities which are on the card and have a track record of being supported over a number of years.”

Ambrose also highlighted the website (www.carnivalsvg.com) as a major outlet for information on the festival, as well as advertising. He added that VC3 will also be airing historical aspects of Vincy Mas leading up to this year’s events and will provide the opportunity for mas bands to display their designs to the public.

“All of the radio stations are very much enthused and they are ready certainly to assist the Carnival Development Corporation in the marketing of the festival, in terms of getting the music out there, in terms of assisting us with interviews and things of the like,” Anthony Dennie, the CDC marketing coordinator said.

Furthermore, Dennie revealed that in addition to historical content, VC3 will premiere “Glamour” in two weeks, which is a programme that follows the Miss SVG contestants and shows behind-the-scenes footage as they prepare for the event.

The marketing coordinator also revealed that the festival will have a heavy social media presence and that the Facebook page — Vincy Mas and the Instagram page — vincy—mas, are already up to date with the latest information for 2015.(BK)
