Fifty days of activities for 50th anniversary

Fifty years is a milestone and as a result, the Streams of Power Ministries will be marking their 50th year of operation with a 50-day celebration.

The 50-day celebration, which began last Sunday, February 8, with a concert at the Streams of Power Church at Sion Hill, was officially launched on Monday, February 9, at the same Sion Hill location.{{more}}

Darian Daniel of the 50th anniversary planning committee said that the celebrations will last up to March 29.

On Monday, a night of prayer and consecration was held at the church’s Carrière and Sans Souci branches.

Giving a rundown of the activities, Daniel said that today Friday, February 13, a night of prayer and consecration will be held at Sion Hill and on Sunday, February 22, in Paget Farm, Bequia, there will be a united fellowship gathering.

The 50-day celebration will also see a number of crusades. The first one runs from February 24 to 26 while the second one runs from March 1 to 3 in Carrière. A third crusade will run from March 8 to 10 in Sans Souci.

On March 14, church members will take part in sporting activities at the church’s sprawling Ratho Mill grounds and on March 18 there will be a public speaking competition on the topic ‘Should the biblical fundamentals be supplemented in order for the church to be more effective in the 21st century?”

Daniel said that on March 21, there will be a prayer breakfast at Ratho Mill from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., while on March 27, church members will be recognized during an awards dinner.

The celebrations end on March 29 with a march and rally at the Victoria Park. Daniel said that the Victoria Park venue was chosen because that is where the church was started in 1965 by Dutchman Henk Houseman.
