Ottley Hall residents upgrade hazardous road

Tue, Jan 27, 2015

The community of Ottley Hall recently took the initiative to grade off the main road to Muddy Gutter.

According to a release from some residents, the road was in a terrible state for the longest time when Rastafari Brethren Tear up, Bop and Deno decided it was time for an uplift {{more}}to the access road to their homes.

“Once, I literally saw a truck roll back and almost turn over with the conductor on the back of it trying to carry a load of sand on that road. It’s a lucky thing the driver of the truck was very skillful in the art of driving; he somehow avoided the overturn.

“Sometime ago, I heard about the incident of an elderly lady who fell on her face while walking on the same road. Now, the whole community, young and old alike, are enjoying the easy get by to and from their homes. Much love and thanks must be given to these blessed brethren for the mighty strength they willingly contribute to their community,” the release said.

“It is important, however, to remember that leadership does not mean domination. The world is always well supplied with people who wish to rule and dominate others. The true leader is of a different sort; he seeks effective activity which has a truly beneficent purpose. He inspires others to follow in his wake, and holding aloft the torch of wisdom, leads the way for society to realize its truly great aspirations.

“Leaders are people who raise the standard by which they judge themselves and are willing to be judged. Words of H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie I.” (contributed by Curth Clifton)
