Elderly Sion Hill residents get Christmas treat

A collaboration between the Sion Hill Sports Club and the Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra saw about 50 elderly residents of the Sion Hill community treated to a luncheon and receiving food baskets.{{more}}

The senior citizens’ fellowship took place last Sunday at the steel orchestra’s pan yard.

There, many chose to reminisce on their younger years, while partaking of their sumptuous meal.

Whilst some turned up at the venue, those who were unable to make it, because of ill health, had their meals and baskets delivered to their homes.

This year’s undertaking is a step up from what took place last year, as then, only food baskets were presented.

Also, last year, the venture was an undertaking of the sports club.

Indications are that with the success of this year’s venture, greater effort would be made for the 2015 activity.(RT)
