SVGHTA elects new board

At its 2014 Biennial General Meeting which took place on Tuesday, November 4, at the Sunset Shores Hotel, the SVG Hotel and Tourism Association elected a new board of directors.

The new board will run the affairs of the Association for the next two years under the presidency of Kim Halbich, who was elected to serve a second term in that position.{{more}}

The new board comprises: Kim Halbich (Paradise Beach Hotel) – president; Fitzroy Glasgow (Mariner’s Hotel) – vice-president; Sharon Francis (Villa Barbara) – Apartment, Guest House, Bed & Breakfast, Inn, Lodge; Arlene Connell (Sea Shell Apartments) – Cottage/Cabana, Villa; Ruth Stevens (Hotel Alexandrina) – Hotel; Bianca Porter (Young Island Resort) – Resort; John West (TMM Yacht Charters) – Marine Operator (Yachting/Boating); Kay Wilson (Indigo Dive) – Marine Operator (Dive); Michelle Forsythe (Coreas Caribbean Adventures) – Land Tour Operator; Don Providence (A I Real Estate) – General Allied.

A release said the SVGHTA is presently collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism and the SVG Tourism Authority in celebrating Tourism Month and is also in the process of finalizing plans for the 2014 Tourism Awards & Cocktails, sponsored by CIBC First Caribbean International Bank.

The Awards & Cocktails will be held at Hotel Alexandrina on Saturday, November 22.

The Association is also in the process of finalizing its 2015 Work Programme.
