Joe called to the Bar


On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, Lloyd D Joe of Bonhomme Village was called to the Bar here in St Vincent and the Grenadines. He was presented to the Bar by attorneys at law, Blazer Williams and Carl Williams.

Joe is a past student of the Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia. He is a graduate {{more}}of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York, where he obtained a BSc with Honours in Criminal Justice in 1995, and a MA in Criminal Justice in 1998. In 2005, he obtained an LLB with Honours from the University of Wolverhampton, UK, and the Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School, St Augustine, Trinidad, in September, 2014.

In his response to the court, Joe thanked the court for its accommodations; his parents, Josephine Joe and the late Chieftain Thomas of Bonhomme Village; his wife Celia M Deane Joe of Calder and the USA; his two daughters, Allana and Lliana Joe of the USA; his past teachers at both primary and secondary schools; relatives and friends.

Joe also paid tribute to the late JP Eustace, the founder of Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia, and JP Eustace Secondary School, Kingstown, and his daughter Grace Eustace. He said of them both: “When the history of St Vincent and the Grenadines is written, I simply ask that the name of Doc Eustace be not forgotten, and that the name of Grace Eustace be remembered.”

Joe presently resides in the USA. His intentions are to return to St Vincent and the Grenadines in the not too distant future.
