Group hosts children’s welfare fund-raiser

The Children Welfare Fund Committee hosted its fund-raising tea party for 2014 at the Government House on Saturday, April 26th.{{more}}

The tea party forms part of the annual fund-raising events under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor General, who is also the chair of the committee. Funds realised from fund-raising activities, like the tea party, go towards the development of children, through annual donations to pre-schools throughout the state. Funds are also donated to families living in trying circumstances.

The patrons at this year’s tea party were welcomed by the Governor General’s Deputy Dame Monica Dacon.

The Chinese auction of a food basket and a cake, the door prize of a dinner for two at Young Island, along with modelling by La Gracia Dancers, kept the patrons entertained for three hours.

Contributions from Joseph Burns Bonadie as Master of Ceremonies and the Girl Guides as waitresses ensured that the evening was well spent.
