Local and International Sponsors Help Send Girls to First Teen Edition of Karen Hinds’ Phenomenal Woman Conference

Individuals abroad and in St Vincent and the Grenadines are working diligently to ensure that young girls, 13-17 years old, can attend the first ever Teen Edition of  Karen Hinds’ Phenomenal Woman Conference this Friday, April 11, at the Kingstown Methodist Hall, 1-4 p.m.{{more}}

 “We recognize that many young girls who need to attend this conference may not have the financial means to do so. We have asked supporters, friends and colleagues to sponsor young women to attend. The tickets will be given at no cost to schools, youth groups and other programs serving youths in the coming days,” said hostess Karen Hinds.

 A dynamic line-up of local and international speakers will work with the teens  throughout the afternoon on topics that include: Loving Me; Charting your Career Path; Dreaming Without Limits; How to Take Care of Your Body; What Every Young Woman Should Know; Common Sense Relationship Advice; and Five Common Relationship Mistakes.

Parents can still buy tickets, which are now $55, if they missed the early bird deadline, and are available at Acute Cosmetics, Jujube Bookstore, Professional Secretarial Services and Gaymes Book Centre.

 Just like last year, the adult conference is already sold out and will be held on Saturday, April 12. Local sponsors of this event include LIME, Searchlight, Grenadine House, Organization of American States (OAS), Vitamalt, Healthy Lifestyles, Veejays, Acute Cosmetics, Mountain Top Springs Limited, National Insurance Services, Tourism Authority, ECGC, Going Places Travel, Sagicor, and Exquisite Events.

 More information about the conference can be found at or on the Facebook page Karen Hinds’ Phenomenal Woman Conference.  A portion of proceeds will benefit Bishop’s College Kingstown
