Woman – He didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye

Raising three children on her own was never something that Linda Thomas thought about.{{more}}

It would seem that this is what she now has to do, as her partner, Nolly Jack, was shot dead last Saturday, in the Lowmans Bay area.

According to police reports, the Campden Park resident sustained several gunshot wounds about his body at approximately 5:30 a.m.

“I feel bad, hurt and sad inside because he gone and leave us. He don’t even get the [opportunity] to say goodbye and leave me with three children behind to see bout,” Thomas told SEARCHLIGHT yesterday.

Thomas revealed that the last time she saw the 45-year-old fisherman was when he left their home to go to the beach early on Saturday morning.

Having been with Jack for over 13 years, the mother of three described him as “a loving and caring person”, who did not trouble people.

Thomas is uncertain about what took place on the Lowmans Bay road on the morning of Jack’s death, and is pleading with anyone who knows something to come forward.

“My heart is broken,” the 29-year-old said. “I would like to say whosoever kill him, whosoever do him that and know that he has three children, I would like them to come forward and give themselves up to the police because I do not see the reason why they should go and kill a man, laying in the street like a dead dog. He did not deserve to die that way.”

Thomas also stated that she is trying to cope with the death and that her family members have encouraged her to have faith.

When SEARCHLIGHT visited the family yesterday, a group of students and teachers from the Lowmans Leeward Primary School was also visiting to pay their respects.

The couple’s daughters, Renuka, 11 and Thalia, 7, attend the school. Their third child, Nolly Jr is one-year-old.

Police are currently investigating the matter and a post mortem is expected to be carried out to ascertain the cause of death.

Thomas indicated that the funeral is expected to take place sometime in April. (BK)
