On Sunday, March 3, the Aunty G Children’s Charitable Organization (AGCCO) hosted a fund-raising football match that featured past national players, politicians and senior police officials, among others, who geared up to raise funds for persons affected by last year’s Christmas Eve Disaster.

The game, which was played at the Chilli Playing Field in Georgetown, raised $2,000, and this amount was handed over to NEMO last Thursday, March 13.

Georgietha “Aunty G” Nanton, president of AGCCO, who handed over the cheque to NEMO’s Barbara Charles, said that the organization saw it fit to reach out to persons affected by the floods in this time of need, and play its part in the rebuilding after the floods.

Nanton said that other events will be planned in the not too distant future, to raised more funds for affected persons.

Charles thanked AGCCO for the contribution, which she indicated will be put to good use.

She said that NEMO looks forward to future contributions from the organization.
