The Forum will seek to bring together parliamentarians, indigenous peoples, non-governmental organizations and representatives of the legislative assemblies of various countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The dialogue on issues of food and human rights is expected to generate regional and national agreements, capable of translating political commitment into concrete actions, to guarantee the right to food at the national level.

The conference will also analyze the state of food security and the main challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean in their bid to eradicate hunger and undernourishment.

The Minister is very optimistic that, through the Government’s continuation of its multi-ministerial policy implementation approach to fight undernourishment, we can look forward to even greater successes in reducing both poverty and undernourishment.

The Minister further noted: “the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries remains committed to ensuring that the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines have extremely safe, accessible and affordable food”.

The Parliamentary Front against Hunger in Latin America and the Caribbean was launched in 2009 in Panama City, Panama.
