SVGAMP elects new executive

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Music Professionals (SVGAMP), which was formed in 2010, has elected a new executive to serve for the next two years. The election that took place on Wednesday,{{more}} July 31, at the Thomas Saunders Secondary School, saw Orande “Bomani” Charles emerging as president for a second consecutive term. The vice presidency went to Bernard Joseph, treasurer Ezekiel Richards, secretary Joffre Venner and the public relations officer is Javelle “Lady Diya” Frank.

The SVGAMP seeks to build a solid foundation for all music practitioners in training, networking, advocacy and other relevant areas of development. SVGAMP also aims to provide technical, advisory and other support services, aimed at modernizing music techniques and skills, thereby improving economic competitiveness at all levels in the field of music and entertainment and to mobilize the expertise and talents of individuals in the music and entertainment sector, and to harness their creative energies in search for solutions to challenges affecting the development of the sector.

The former executive members of SVGAMP were Orande “Bomani” Charles – president, Carl O’brien – vice president, Lyndon Moss – treasurer, Lennox Lampkin – secretary, Edwin Johnson – assistant secretary, Gary “Troots” Young – public relations officer.
